Update: December 15th 201112/15/11 Final Show of 2011! Headlining Trophy's on Friday Dec. 16th!! We're pretty psyched to be closing out the year with a cool show at Trophy's (2008 South Congress Ave). It's been a while since we've played there and this lineup of friends is perfect to start ringing in the holidays! Come early and stay late... There's free parking and the show is inside, so you can get out of the cold, into hot Rock and raise a drink (and your fists) high! All the details: An AWESOME holiday party featuring Austin's most entertaining hard rockers: We'll have T-shirts and CDS if you want to give the gift of ROCK this holiday season and we might even have some extra giveaways. We won't judge if you're naughty or nice, as long as you come have a good time.

11/22/11 Final Shows of 2011!! We are rocking out the year in style in December!! First up is Billy's Birthday gig at Red Eyed Fly on Thursday Dec. 1st. Deserts of Mars goes on at 9:00 SHARP!! However, we would love to have you there at 8:00 to check out all the bands and celebrate Billy's Birthday with us! We should be debuting some new songs and playing your old favorites as well. As always, we need you there to help bring the ROCK!!! 06/10/11 Show at Latitude 30 Friday June 17th!
We will be playing for the first time at Latitude 30 (512 San Jacinto Blvd) opening for our friends Temporarily Here along with IPD. Doors open at 8:00. IPD plays at 9:00, Deserts of Mars at 10:00 and Temporarily Here at 11:00. It's a 21 and older show, be ready to ROCK!!!

04/25/11 New international review and interview!
Deserts of Mars was interviewed by Mourning/Graveless of Aristocrazia Webzine, an Italian website that features tons of great bands! Here is the review of "Transmission" (in Italian) and here is the interview in English and Italian. On a personal note, this is super cool to me. My great-grandparents came from Sicily to Texas, so having my first international interview be from Italy is fantastic! Thanks to this interview, I was also introduced to Gustnado. This one man rock machine has some truly killer tunes. You really need to check out Frank Tudisco's fuzzed out rockin demo! If you happen to live anywhere near him, join up so we can go to Italy and tour together! |
03/3o/11 Deserts of Mars debut album "Transmission" released!!!
Our CD release at Red Eyed Fly went super great and we managed to raise $360 for the relief efforts in Japan. Thanks to all the great fans and the bands,Valley Of Fire Corporate Elvis Beautiful Disturbance and Venus Fixer for making it an awesome night. Now that we have had our CD release show we are proud to announce that our CD is on sale in Austin at Encore, End of an Ear, Cheapo, and Waterloo Records. If you are outside of Austin or you prefer to shop on the web you can get the physical CD at CD Baby, and you can download it there as well. Or, you can shop at Amazon, or iTunes if you prefer. You can also find us at Lastfm! I have to admit, I've spun the Deserts of Mars radio on my Xbox and I can't say I've been disappointed by the bands that show up on it! 03/13/11 Upcoming Shows!! CD RELEASE SHOW Saturday March 26th!!
We're gearing up for our CD release show on March 26th at Red Eyed Fly. But before that, we are kicking off a SXSW show at The Parish for the "Game Salad Party for the Rest of Us" we may even have some musical surprises and giveaways. CD RELEASE SHOW INFO: We're returning to rock and we're hitting it HARD!!! Come out and celebrate the release of our first album "Transmission". We're rocking out with our good friends "Valley of Fire" and "Corporate Elvis" and other way cool bands, BEAUTIFUL DISTURBANCE and Venus Fixer! We've been waiting a long time--crafting this CD from the fires of the stars and molten core of the red planet, and now we want to share that rock with YOU!!! Show Lineup:

01/10/11 First song from our upcoming album-"Transmission"
We're gearing up to release our first album very soon. In the meantime, here's the first track from the album (and coincidentally the first song we wrote as a band): Send More Gasoline. Mark Dufour did an awesome job on the album and can't wait to share it with you!
Speaking of which, we recently had the sneak preview debut on DyHard- Radio.com thanks to an old friend DJ Michael on his show "Michael's Metal for Morons" (in fact, he dug it so much he played it twice!).
